Bath to Shower Conversion

This project focused on transforming a traditional bathroom to improve accessibility and functionality. The client requested the removal of their bathtub and the installation of a shower base to allow for easier access.

We began by carefully removing the existing bath, as well as the wall and floor tiles. The plumbing was then modified to a mixer setup, offset to perfectly center the new shower rail for a balanced and user-friendly design. Fortunately, the client had spare tiles available, which we used to seamlessly match the existing tiling outside the shower base.

Next, we sheeted and waterproofed the area, conducting a 24-hour flood test to ensure the space was fully sealed and ready for tiling. The shower floor was screeded to create the proper slope for drainage, and the chosen tiles were meticulously applied to meet the client’s design preferences. Grout and silicone were color-matched for a cohesive finish.

Once the tiling was complete, the plumber fitted off the fixtures, and the new shower screen was installed. The result was a sleek, modern shower that met the client’s needs for accessibility while enhancing the overall aesthetic of the bathroom.
