Pool Fountain Retiling

Cavell Tiling & Bathroom Renovations Brisbane The original stack stone and granite had fallen off the wall due to poor preparation of the substrate. The goal of the project was to rebuild the feature wall correctly and provide a strong, long-lasting finish. To begin, all loose stack stone and granite pieces were carefully removed. The substrate was then ground clean to remove old adhesive and create a suitable surface for the new installation. Once the surface had been prepared, it was primed and waterproofed to help protect the wall and improve adhesion. The stack stone was installed using the correct adhesive recommended for the product. Because the granite pieces were too heavy to rely on adhesive alone, a support shelf was installed beneath each piece of granite to properly carry the weight and prevent future movement. To achieve a neat finish, the granite corners were mitred before grouting was completed. Silicone was applied along the base of the wall to allow for movement and help reduce the risk of cracking over time. The work was finished with a full clean-up of the area, and all rubbish and waste materials were removed from the site, leaving the feature wall clean, secure, and ready for use.
